Zoo Day at Bear Hollow Zoo (Athens)

“Join us for Zoo Day 2024! Our event will run from 10am to 1pm and is free of charge! Check out art from local Athens artists, meet ambassador animals, and more!”
About Bear Hollow Zoo: Bear Hollow Zoo is home to a variety of non-releasable wildlife residents. These animals have encountered a challenge that they could not overcome, either physical or behavioral, and have been placed here to live out their lives serving as ambassadors for their species. They are here to educate our visitors about the wonderful wildlife with which we share space.
Animals at Bear Hollow Zoo
All residents at Bear Hollow Zoo are non-releasable native wildlife. Exhibits change periodically. Here are some of our current residents on exhibit:
- Black Bear
- River Otter
- Red Fox
- American Alligator
- Spotted Skunk
- Deer
- Wild Turkey
- Bald Eagle
- Great Horned Owl
- Eastern Screech Owl
- Various reptiles (reptile house)

Location: Bear Hollow Zoo (Athens), 293 Gran Ellen Dr, Athens, Georgia
Bear Hollow Zoo is located within Memorial Park. ((I recommend packing a picnic lunch to eat in the Park after your zoo visit))
NOTE: Bear Hollow Zoo is located in Athens, GA about 40 miles East of downtown Lawrenceville (50+ minutes with NO traffic)
