Lawrenceville Science Tavern Returns – September 14

Co-hosts Candace Timpte and Tirza Leader are relaunching Lawrenceville Science Tavern. Their mission is to bring science and scientists directly to the community through monthly talks and informal Q&A sessions.
The group meets at McCray’s Tavern in Downtown Lawrenceville on the second Monday of each month. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6 p.m. for dinner, and the science talk begins at 7 p.m.
The first speaker for the 2026 restart is Dr. Adam Hutcheson from Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC). He will present “Weird Perceptions: How Vision Gets Tricked,” including the famous dress illusion and why people saw different colors.
The event is family friendly.
Children ages 10 and up often enjoy the talks and have asked great questions in past years.
