Homeschool Hangout: Teen Edition: Native American Natural Ink Painting

March 5 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Discover the world of natural inks and dye and the rich history of using local vegetation in Native American art in the final in our three-part series on global historical art. Join us as we explore the history, learn how to make natural inks, and create a piece of art you can take home.
Local plants have been used to create a wide range of colorful inks and dyes and enhance our lives through decorations, fabrics, craft, hair, and even our bodies through the centuries. Participants will learn how Native Americans transformed these natural resources into pigments that connected art to the land and community. Then, get hands-on experience making natural inks from local vegetation.
