Scarves are fun, easy, and inexpensive to make. You can personalize them with vibrant fleece patterns to suit anyone’s style.

Make one for yourself or create matching scarves as thoughtful gifts for kids, friends,
clubs, teams, or family!

The Basics – Quick Overview

  1. Cut a rectangular piece of fleece fabric 60 inches long and 9 inches wide.
  2. Fringe the ends.
  3. You’re done!

More Detailed Instructions:

  1. Pick Your Fleece:

How Much To Get: Fleece usually comes 60″ wide from the fabric store, and you tell them the length you need. Each scarf requires 9″ of length, so figure accordingly—but remember you’ll need some extra for squaring up the fabric so always add a few inches. To make four scarves get 1 1/4 yards.

Which No-Pill Fleece: Choose a design based on your recipient’s interests—
    school colors,
    sports teams,
    music notes,
    or a favorite hobby!
  2. Fold Your Fabric: Fold the fleece in half, aligning the edges.
  3. Square the Fabric: Use fabric scissors (if available) to cut a straight edge along the folded side, removing any unevenness.
  4. Cut to Length: Measure and cut a 9″ wide strip. For multiple scarves, cut several strips.
  5. Cut the Fringe: Cut 4″ deep fringe on both ends, using a ruler to ensure even lengths.

Done! Enjoy your cozy, homemade scarf—perfect for cold days or as a thoughtful gift!
