(Ages 2-12): U.S. Kids Annual Cover Contest
This year’s Theme: Make My Dream Come True! – tell us about a dream you had with your art.
“Winners will receive prizes, and first-place winners will have their art featured on the May/June cover of the appropriate U.S. Kids magazine. In addition, U.S. Kids will make a donation to the art department of the winner’s preschool, elementary, or middle school or other 501(c) 3 nonprofit art program. First place: $500.00 Second place: $250.00 Third place: $100.00″
(Girl Scouts): Medieval Castle Contest for Girl Scouts
“Girl Scout Troops are invited to construct a Medieval Castle with Girl Scout cookie boxes. The top six winning troops will receive up to 15 tickets to their participating castle, meet and greets, swag bags, and more!”
The challenge: to design and create a working invention/artwork that incorporates at least 1 rubber band. Entrants choose to compete in one of two divisions: 1) Arts & Leisure Division; or 2) Science & Engineering Division. All inventions/artworks must be original. Each entry must be submitted by one student working alone, with the sponsorship of parent(s) and/or a teacher/mentor.”
“Team up to build a cardboard boat and sail across the pool. You and up to three other teammates will be challenged to build a boat out of cardboard. One participant per team will then enter the boat and attempt to sail across the pool. We’ll provide the supplies you supply the ingenuity. Additional rules and bonuses will be detailed at the event. Register each member of your team. Solo participants will be assigned to a team on the day of event.”

“If entering the international Fish Art Contest, students can choose to feature any wild fish in its habitat. Go Fish Georgia Award contest participants will select a native state fish species, or one introduced to the state, commonly sought by anglers.”
(Middle and high school students): The World of 8 Billion Challenge
“Create a one minute video that addresses one of this year’s global topics, suggests a sustainable solution, and connects how human population growth impacts that topic.”
“Artists create their Doodles using any materials they want. From crayons, clay, to found objects. This year, we’re welcoming more mediums of digital art, including virtual reality paintings, videos of stop-motion, songs, and poems.”
Kids 13+ – Ranger Rick Photo Contest Kids 13 and under can enter any nature-themed photo they’ve taken on their own using a camera or phone camera app. Every month, winners will be selected by the judges and posted on the contest homepage in the Recent Contest Winners slideshow. Online winners will be in the running for Ranger Rick’s “Your Best Shots” Magazine Award. Magazine Award winners will be selected three times each year for publication in Ranger Rick magazine’s December–January, April, and August issues.
