An emergency hotline that’s the mental health equivalent of 911 is now live in the U.S. The number is 988 and it connects callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which operates under the number 800-273-8255.

1) QPR Suicide Prevention Training & NARCAN Training
When: First Tuesday of every Month (6-8 pm) – June 6

2) QPR Suicide Prevention Training
When: Wednesday, July 19, 2023 (1-3pm) ~ Aug 16, Sept 20, Oct 18, Nov 15 & Dec 20
Where: ONLINE
Details: QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. The QPR Online Gatekeeper Training is taught in a clear, concise format using the latest in educational technology and practices. The course takes approximately 2 hours to complete.
We typically offer QPR once a month; these trainings are identical, and participants should only register for one. Registration is for one person only, and we respectfully request that the link is not shared with anyone. Please note: If you miss more than 15 minutes of the training – including being late or leaving early – we will be unable to provide you with QPR certification.
Certificates of attendance documenting hours will be provided after the webinar via email upon completion of the course evaluation. This training requires a minimum of 10 participants per virtual event. If there are not at least 10 people registered for an event, it will be canceled. If you are signed up for a training that is canceled, we will reach out to you the day before to let you know and will offer to move your registration to another training date.
Registration will close when our limit of 50 participants has been met or at 5 pm on Monday, December 12 (whichever comes first).

3) Community Mental Health Awareness Fair – Breaking the Stigma
When: Saturday, May 27 (10am-2pm)
Where: Alexander Park, Lois Lane Pavillion #4, 800 Old Snellville Highway, Lawrenceville

Learn about the history of mental health treatment, the ways mental illness manifests in our communities, and ways that we can advocate for those with mental illnesses in our daily lives.
